Experience
I specialize in encouraging students to develop the writing, research, and analysis skills they need to succeed in humanities and social sciences courses. I'm here to help whether you're struggling with basic paragraph structure or a confident writer who wants to polish a major project. I'm currently teaching with the MASSIE program at Mount Allison University; last semester, I was a part-time instructor in the Fountain School of Performing Arts at Dalhousie University. I have approximately 10 years of experience in university-level teaching (as a TA, lecturer, & adjunct) in music history and writing/rhetoric. I also worked as a tutor at the Stony Brook University Writing Center for approximately 4 years, and have taught junior high and high school students in summer programs. Many of my students have been English language learners (ELL/NNS or ESL students), and I'm really sensitive to their particular needs and concerns. I'm happy to supply references and a complete CV on request.

Hobbies
My work requires me to do a lot of reading and listening to music -- which, fortunately, I enjoy very much! I'm happiest when my day includes a good session at the library, a bike ride, a meal with friends or family, and some downtime to watch a good movie.
